Non-muppet Sera is starting to grow on me. I just got through re-reading volume 1 for about the millionth time today, and looking back at it makes it easy to see how much you’ve matured as an artist.

I love your backgrounds, by the way. All sorts of little nifty details.

    • John Says:

Same here. She seems a bit taller (even if she is still 4”10) just by the way she’s drawn. Pretty cool.

      Hmm… “Wednesday actually”. Awkward…

    • jayn Says:

she does look taller and shes not a negitive but the whole dwelling on her past is still kind of making me bitter

I kinda miss the volume one style, myself - this is still great stuff and it’s cool to see the style progress, but I heart muppet-Sera beyond reason.

That said: oh, Kelton. I have missed you and your awkward silence-inducing presence.

    • Claire Says:

Oh man. Kelton’s sort of clueless pathetic thing is bad enough, but it frightens me to imagine how Tess will react. “WEDNESDAY!?!!?!?”

Sera does seem taller. Though maybe Kelton is just short too.

      “Eat guns dollar pig!” XD

    • Zac Says:

poor Kelton, that kid can’t catch a break, waits around 5 hours for Sera to tell him she’s leaving a few days, but on the bright side… um… hm… aside from the fact that we’re gonna get to see Vicious again i cant find a bright side, lol

    • Malachy Says:

Aww… does this mean the end of Humbly?

To tell the truth I was wondering whether or not Humbly would be addressed in the new book. Even if there are no more Humbly comics, I’m glad it was addressed in the dialog itself.

Plus I think the real value of the Humbly comics was less about the actual story behind him, and more about getting a glimpse into Sera’s mind

    • John Says:

Yeah, Aaron. Your comics are cool, but I’m curious on how you make them go from the raw paper from the Online Store to…well…this! You should consider doing tutorials.

    • MrThumbtack Says:

      aww, poor Kelton…

I’m waiting to see if Sera finally notices that, in fact, Kelton is a person… :(

Aaron, you characterization is excellent with this page. The conversation is realistic, I can imagine the tone of their voices perfectly.

Man, it seemed like Sera had turned over a new leaf in the last book, but it turns out she’s gone back to being a hermit in the intervening time between between books.
