the fucking people what look bad what your trouble?

      stupids worms humans

well buh bye and remember viva sera…

atte: your friend or enemy levi the maniac i am levy !yay me!

    • alphatroll Says:

      hey, mr. Levi,

first of all, to answer your question, the bottom panels of people staring at Sera are a “callback” to a similar situation in issue one of the comic. You can read it by clicking on the “comics” link. Basically, Sera is very famous and like most famous people, people stare at her wherever she goes.

second, i’d suggest toning down the language if you want to get responses around here. most of us are maniacs of some sort too, and you don’t often see us posting like that. this is a polite little forum where people converse in a civilized manner.

just to make sure you noticed, this site is about Aaron Alexovich’s work, not Jhonen Vasquez’, although they have worked together in the past and some of that stuff is here too.

    • David Says:

so… is the statue just too cold to be meddled with because it is so physically cold? if so why is Sara leaning on it?

also don’t think i mentioned lately how much i love Aaron’s art style,

    • alphatroll Says:

man, some people just see Obama everywhere…. ;)

it’s “witchy-cold”. i guess. Sera doesn’t have to feel it if she doesn’t want to (she can ignore nasty weather, anyway). tho sitting there does surely make her stick out like a sore thumb, but at least no-one can sit next to her ;)

and, um, are you referring to the grinning witchy-type with those sharp metal implements? i’m guessing Sera’s gonna get some Tess-style help with that problem ;)

    • Joseph Says:

i’d like to thank alphatroll for calling out those who need to be.
i appreciate it. i love this forum for it’s unique intellectual conversations on aaron’s subject matter, and prefer also if it were to be kept that way.
i view it as an interactive artistic approach.
obviously, aaron alexovich reads (and participates) in what is written here, and therefore, all that is written most certainly holds at least some smidgen of influence his work, upon the subject material and most certainly the comic itself’s actual futures.
that said- i must note that this page’s strongest (among many) quality is the bold red of tess. it brings such an atmosphere to this page that it’s almost depressing to realize that the printed version of this page will omit this substantually influential feature that we have online.
that said, it is only an icing upon a great page. a bonus.

    • Chumtastic Says:

Also, the grumpy-looking man in the throwback sequence is in the original sequence in issue 1. With the exact same pose and facial expression. And uh, now that i think of it he’s also the guy interviewed about seeing the flying bus way back when. I notice things and point them out! WEEEHEW!

    • Gary Says:

Cunning stuff double A. Really top notch.
This comic is such good stuff it is a shame to read it one page at a time.
You sir, are quite skilled at what you do. Can’t wait for next Wednesday.

    • Jadd (Jose Diaz) Says:

I have been reading this new installment a bit late, since page 48 or so (of course i’ve gone to the archives and got up-to-date with everything else), and this is my first post ever.

So looking forward to watch what happens between these two after their last encounter, the “western spaghetti” atmosphere is just the perfect choice for setting us in the mood of what to expect to come in the next few pages, at least, that’s what i think…

And calling out Levy, i find you and your “way of thinking” particularly childish and offensive to the people you think you “represent”, and please, if you’re not going to refrain from posting nonsense around here, at least try to learn basic English, from one fellow Mexican to another…

But what the hell should i know…. right?

      Jadd…………………………………………………………………………………………

    • Ithos Says:

ONE ARMED BANDIT! ONE ARMED BANDIT!

      had to be done…

This neeeeeds to be printed. The Winds of over Nine Thousand Fans demands it! Vol. 1 is one of the few comicbooks I ever bought.

    • alphatroll Says:

      Ithos: -? i think i missed something….

Chumtastic: good eye! i totally missed that li’l fun feature :D

Joseph: thanks for the prop, nice to know one’s efforts are appreciated. i’m pretty much totally tactless in person (& sometimes online too) so i kinda sympathize with mr. Levy, just wanted to try politely nudging him a bit. plus he did have a legitimate question, which seemed like a good opening to attempt to bridge the gap & hopefully grow the happy family a little. i guess it’ll either work or it won’t, preferably the former. :)

and Levy: i *do* hope you’ll try to work with the local “style” a bit more. no one really minds if your english isn’t perfect (my spanish is much worse!); this here’s a pretty literary kind of comic, so most of the readers will gladly try to understand if you try to communicate. most, however, will just ignore you if you don’t try to be civil.

even Sera explodes with the cursing and stuff if pushed too far, and obviously everyone here can understand that, but save it for when it’s really appropriate for the situation.

i hope that’s not too hard to understand; i get kind of “pedantic” sometimes. :)

    • emiko Says:

i thought levy was mexican. wasn’t that him? not trying to be racist but his grip on english doesnt seem that great so we prolly shouldn’t be that hard on him. I know its really hard to express myself in a different language. let alone being able to come off as intellectual

    • Dragon Says:

I think it might be more like a Full Metal Alchemist moment when Winery attacks Edward with her wrench for “wrecking her hard work.” I guess it’s kind of like what Tess does to Sera.
Or it’ll end up being a touching Simpsons moment
“Teach you to ditch me!” *Tess chokes Sera*
      GO TESS! GO SERA!

    • curious Says:

I hope their conflict is resolved soon. Last time they were both acting pretty stupid. And what would this comic be without Tess? Yes, Sera is the main (and an amazing) character, but without contrasting characters it dulls the book a bit.
That’s the problem with a lot of comics now, yeah? Everybody has to have a traumatic and mysterious past….with demons and dead girlfriends… shiny katanas and ‘you killed my father. prepare to die!’
Alexovich…..thank you for having an imagination. TT__TT
