      Lois looks like she knew it was coming. Shotgun loaded at the ready like that. Also, Serenity needs to wake the hell up lest she get ’sludge’ on her.

      Argh, SSI. If you’re going to attack with ‘lectrics and sludges you should at least know that all the foofaraw is going to WORK. *grumbles about incompetent government*

      I love how Merrick is so calm an collected. Like he’s seen it all before, and is confident that he is in total control (well, so far) of the situation.
      Multiple red wee Tessbeasties are a great display of inventive thinking there too Aaron. Ace!

      doh! Merrick should have known you have to positively charge the sludge with soul music first. Hasn’t he seen Ghostbusters II? ;) He may look collected now, but we haven’t seen his “post-gazillion-killer-bloodstained-goblin-Tesses” face yet….

      and Gary, so glad you pointed that out! That little “ch-chk” even as mr. hotshot thinks it’s all done except for the bow on top…. it just speaks volumes about Lois.

      Something tells me Chester M will be keeping his head for now…… can’t speak for the other ISSers tho! But I ’spect this/these thing/s will keep its/their attention pretty focused. At this point it’s pretty much up to Sera, unless Atlan or V or (gasp) Stilletta or ‘Hed come swooping down! (I have not much faith in the ISS, haven’t noticed them doing anything right *yet*….)

      Lois, of course, will cruise through without even dropping her toothpick.

      Hmmm. That…isn’t promising. o-o

      However, Merrick, though a bit arrogant, doesn’t strike me as any sort of fool. I get the feeling he’d have planned for an eventuality like this.

      Which isn’t to say he won’t be…perturbed. Flying screaming tessgoblins have that effect.

      As for Sera, she seems to be right in the line of fire along with the SSI agents. How disconcerting.

      Merrick seems like the type who’s arrogant mostly ’cause he’s been lucky so far, and the story requires his luck to last at least a little longer. He strikes me as the sort of fool who generally manages to avoid striking others as a fool until his luck abruptly runs out…. ;)

      And Sera is SSI-proof. It’s probably a subconscious response that would work in her sleep by now. :D (Not to mention her name is on the front of the story, and we’re only halfway through volume 2!)

      Hmm. Not so sure about Merrick. Remember, earlier, when he was all OMG BUBBLY walkin’ round Sera’s room, and then suddenly whiplashed into sly and manipulative while still acting “friendly’? I think there’s moreto the man than we’d expect.

      As for Sera…yeah I doubt we’ll see her get mauled to death as she is the titular character XD. Still, gotta wonder how she’ll exactly AVOID this…
