Small question for the folks down under...
Is "Ausie" a slur? I'm wondering 'cuz I can't tell if it is or not.
I mean, Asians have "Slant Eyes" or "Jap" or whatever, and Itilians have "Wop" and Mexicans have "Wetbacks" and so forth. I think Americans are "Yanks," but I've never heard anyone here in the US take offence to that.

"Yank" isn't really a racial slur. Especially since us southerners use it all the time to describe all these dang snowbirds coming down for the winter. Although "Canuck" might be considered a mild one for Canadians.

well I guess so. (BTW Aussie is pronounced as Ozzy (as in Ozzy Osbourne)) but I its racist to call someone from england a "Pommy" and we call New Zealander's "Kiwi's" because of those native kiwi animals and the kiwi fruits
