Today I saw a small pale yellow-red spider on a box of fruit, so I tried to pick it up, I almost had it when it started to jump :o Normally, the only jumping spiders I see are black and white......

So then, who's seen strange spiders/insects out of captivity? I've seen a white spider, a pink and green spider, and a magenta grasshopper

While at an English-speaking Turkish school called Bilkent (long story), I was there when they found one of THESE in the boy's bathroom:

Those things are strong enough to cut through a finger down to the bone.
They put it in the science lab, and the science teacher let me feed it crickets. I'll try to find some better pictures of it

Aha, I knew I'd remember eventually! I used to be a bit of an expert on spiders and scorpions and sharks and well basically any predator that seemed particularly cool, and anyway I just remembered that those ugly little bastards are called sun spiders, even though they're more closely related to scorpions and look like giant termites from hell. Here's some more pictures to frighten small children with, should you get the chance:

Muhahahahahahahaa!!! your screams of terror only egg me on!
Besides that thing isn't a spider. Spiders don't have jaws.
They have fangs, like these:

Spectre
'the ballad of a bastard'

He lurks in the corners of forums,
Waiting for terrified screams
To come from the pictures he's posted
Of spiders and nasty things.

Spectre, oh Spectre,
Why do you haunt us so?
Spectre, oh Spectre,
Just take your pictures and go.

He always knows when it's come,
The time for his devious deeds.
When the easily frightened arrive,
He pounces, attacks, and feeds.

Spectre, oh Spectre,
Why do you haunt us so?
Spectre, oh Spectre,
Just take your pictures and go.

He'll never relent in his mischief
Because it is all he can do.
For though he may be a bastard,
It's worth it when tormenting you!
