lol. unfortunately no. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do skateboarding in black-light
(although that'd be awesome) It's just there for some extra spiffiness.
kinda wish I could have gotten glow in the dark paint for it.
then it would have been black-light reactive AND glow in the dark!
She loved it though. and that's all that mattered to me. <3 that kid.

I have a weekness for Koi. It makes me want to punch the nearest person or thing when someone says how good they taste. Im no animal rights person, but Koi aren't animals. they are beyond animal. they are too beautiful to be animals. no koi deserves to be eaten.

I do believe that animals should have rights...
at the very least; the right to be free from torture, abuse, and murder..
and I agree that koi are awesome. I'd never heard of people eating Koi!
I really can't understand how people would want to eat something so awe-inspiring....

I can't personally bring myself to eat ANY animal...so maybe I'm just biased...I dunno...

*yes I'm a vegetarian*
-don't think I should have the right to eat meat if I can't kill it myself...
and I'd rather go without a big hunk of steak (hates steak anyways)
than know that I helped the torture and savage slaughtering of an
animal...regardless of what kind and/or how intelligent they are..
(which btw, didja know that pigs are smart enough to be taught basic video-games?!
and chickens are about as intelligent as a cat?!)

now I don't insist that other ppl stop eating their meats..
I used to so I know how it goes..some of it's tasty I know, I know..
(just like I can't give up dairy products to become straight up vegan.) Xd

yanno, that's actually pretty interesting because my sister is a vegetarian for almost exactly the same reasons. she said she cannot condone or support the poor living conditions and torture that more often than not accompanies the lives of the animals which will eventually become our food. she actually has no problem with the eating of animals, just how they are widely treated in order to be our food. if she knew exactly where the meat she was being served came from and what went on there, and it was free-range, and humane, she would eat it just fine, but seeing as to how this is nearly impossible to do for every meal, she's pretty much given up on the meat. but yeah, she does still do milk and cheese.
when she explained it to me like that, it made perfect sense and i applaud her for being able to do this thing for what she believes in. not me though. meat=deeeelishus. however, i do buy most of my own meats that i cook at home from a local butcher, who also buys his meat locally. i actually know this farm as it is on the outskirts of the town/village where i grew up. they is good people there for sure who treat their meat animals well. 95% of my meat comes from this butcher not only because of this, but also because it is actually the best quality meat in town. the chain super markets who have to ship their meat in refridgerated trucks from hundreds of miles away don't taste nearly as good or have as nice a cut. everyone in town knows this, too. his "grill candy" is famous here. ^^

send kudos her way for me, then! :)

I don't know any other vegetarians
all of my friends LOOOOOOOVE their meats..
BUUUuuuuut, I have come up with many different ways to substitute
and/or make alternative meals which my friends seems to love just as
much as meaty meals...which you've no idea how good that makes me feel.
:D

even though I live in Kentucky-U.S. (which is known for
it's farmers and such..) it's actually pretty difficult to find someone that'll sell locally raised meat-products....
they will sell their produce to locals, but they sell the cattle and such to larger businesses.

also, Kentuckians are notorious for treating animals raised for the slaughter like garbage....
the common belief around these parts are that
"animals were made by God for man to do with as they please."
which makes me feel very very sad to be from Ky...

"Cheer Me!"

Image

this is a cutey that I came up with while at AT&T one day...
brought her home, scanned her, and started colorizing her in Photoshop..

I'm trying to practice to get better at it....
b/c right now I feel like she looks like she was made in Paint, or something :?

I'm probably going to make some sort of a background thingy for her, eventually...
Her colors look so muted on the net compared to in Photoshop...
we fixed all that stuff before....wonder why it's doing it again? :\

well anywho....you'll probably see her again in the future,
hopefully better looking! :D

I don't consider myself a vegetarian at all, but this is what I do. It's not really a problem for me because I eat about a 1 pound of meat a week, since I think we as a country consume too much of it (not that we are bad people).
But I just got some part-time work at the Koo Koo Roo and until I get more hours I need to eat their stuff to live :( I'm surrounded by so many cheekahns, I wonder were'iz they all came from...

That is some wannerful arts, Squeek. It did strike me that the colors had some sort of hushed quality to them, I thought it was intentional o:

wow... that Cheer Me gal is GORGEOUS! to me, the way to you colour looks almost like you used coloured pencils to do it and not a computer AT ALL! I think it's the way you use youre pencils and don't ink. i am jealous of your clean pencils. my rough works pre-ink have like a POUND of graphite on the page, just all over the place and not tidy. it's a good thing i do my own inks because anyone else would be confused to all get out. i am also jealous of that "thumbing" hand. i wish i could draw hands so well....

The Flying Dracula Hair: No....unfortunately the muted colors are not intentional..

Imma fix it- by joe! :tooth:

but yea....I've been doing random stuffs like this at work...
(I have another drawing that I don't think I'm going to colorize quite so extensively.)
oh man....
I have work tomorrow.....gotta get up at 7:00am....it's 1:34am right now...

Williamthebloody: Don't be jealous, please! if you were to see
what they look like before I scan them, you wouldn't be saying that..lol.
I erase A LOT, they get smudgy A LOT, and the lines aren't nearly as dark.
I prefer working with the messy quality of the pencil vs. ink
b/c graphite is much more expressive and loose...whereas ink has
to be controlled and tightly manipulated....
(maybe I'm just not as comfortable with it as some..)

I usually take the drawings into photoshoop, mess with the levels,
and clean it up...
I'm horrible at inking

That is really, really gorgeous, Squeek.

The one thing that really stood out to me was the cincher/fabric, though. I think it would benefit you to just OWN it. Bold lines! The cincher looks like you were really hesitant, as the line is somewhat un-decided. With the skirt, all of the folds are the same size. Unless it's pleated, you should vary your shapes more. ;)

But really Squeek, this is a fantastic piece. Your method of digital over traditional pencil is lovely (I'm assuming that's how you do it?) and your anatomy is spot-on!

:D Thank you very much for the replies everyone! <3

I'm sorry it took me so long to reply, also....I've been working

I agree with you, Subob, on the skirt folds.
I'm not sure if I was going for pleats or just natural flowing folds...I think maybe both? but yea...I can visualize how it'd look with different sized folds.
and that would have made the piece look a ton better..
I'll probably mess with this piece more in the future..

hrmm....I think Imma post a piece starting from when I first scanned it in, (raw and un-edited) until it is finished....just to show my typical process..

*sorry...this message might end up being quite lengthy.. :?

and finally what I have done so far on color...

I'm trying to cut corners..but this time I'm pretty content with it. *shock and amaze*
now I just need to finish it. <.<;;
which always ends up being the hardest part for me..ehehehe. :) ;
I'll try to get more finished soon!
