speaking as someone who went more than a year without posting, and also considering the number of places where posting happens but you need different accounts, i humbly (not *the* humbly of course) suggest that maybe some sort of "inactive accounts" group be set up so us drifters can drift back & find our accounts still there but just not counted in the "active" group? not to imply *never* deleting accounts since there are plenty of obvious (& prolly mostly accidental) "double" accounts and things like that. of course if that kind of thing isn't possible with the system yer using, just ignore me.

With all this talk of deleting old accounts, I am pleasantly surprised to see that I was either missed, or it has yet to start... Until a few days ago, my account had zero posts... and I've been a member since early 2005

i dont believe mr a or the lovely and magical gofflin have deleted any accounts. it was an idea put out there. mr a agreed that it was a good idea, but he didnt want to do without first sendingan alert to those inactive accounts first, in order to give those members a chance to realize what was going on and use their accounts. however, mr a found out that the forum will not allow him to "mass e-mail" as it thinks he is a spambot. i dont think he has the time to do it any other way, so all inactive no-post accounts are still there.

i think. or something.

That was what I had gathered out of the thread, minus the limitation on available time. S'pose it makes since, though. He must be too busy creating life, not destroying it(or feeding teh vortex :o )

the "figment" has been escorted out back to china. about 95% of the spambots on here seem to come from china for some reason...
