i also saw HORTON HEARS A WHO.
i enjoyed it greatly. it fit with Suess' work really well (unlike say, the live action The Grinch, which sucked ass) and there were some classic cartoon gags thrown in there, which i loved. really charming and fun.

Yeah, I enjoyed it too. First good comedy with Jim carrey in a very long time I think. I've been kinda sick of him after "Bruce the allmighty" and "Me, Myself & Irene". (Which I didn't like.)

Woah, woah.

Horton was a horrible retread of the chuck jones original, unlike the grinch where they stayed true to the story and a little more. (babie grinch!)

seriously, they have got to come out with something original soon.

Del Torro seems to be the most original person out there these days.

if they are going to do remakes, I don't see why it's so hard to make them decent. The recent "book" movies have been pretty bad.

(golden compass, anyone?)

there, Im done.

Anyone else concerned over the fact that a Dragon Ball movie is going to be coming out soon? A WESTERN LIVE ACTION Dragon Ball movie?
Image

I think this novelty live action comic book/cartoon movie fad might be going too far.

I'm so glad I don't like DBZ, (I don't hate it mind you, lets not start a nerd war over this), because this movie sounds like it is going to smell like very old fish.

What I AM worried about is M. Night Shama..Shamallalaaa... the guy who directed Unbreakable directing a live action adaptation of Avatar. I kind of hoped that the last book would end before Nick decided to rape that particular show...

Oh ho, I think I can do you one better: http://uk.youtube.com/v/C1JmUcC9rss and it relates to westernization of Asian cartoons thing we got going on here. I would KILL to see this one in production. KILL.

Anyway, I feel bad for the Piccolo. In the original Dragon Ball he was a fuckwin awesome villain.

Image

I bet they'll make him human or totally deform the character like did with TDK Joker or Abomination in the upcoming Hulk film. Because obviously a pointy eared green demon who routinely kills and destroys with his awesome blasts just won't "jive" with American audiences.

God, we must be a finicky people.
