october always gets me thinking about Rocky Horror. i'm an avid fan and was wondering if any of y'all were as well. got any fun stories? how'd YOU lose your virginity? ever go in costume? never seen it live yet? c'mon, let's hear it!

Never seen it yet. I remember puzzling about that virgin thing when I read it in Gloomcookie, what's that all about? Do they attack people who never been before or those who've never had sex?

They play it every Saturday at midnight at a theatre near enough here, with people dressing up and everything, have been thinking of going.

I've never gone, but I really want to. Granted, I'd have to go in Columbia's pyjamas, because I'm way to self-conscious to wear any of that lingere. xD
I don't plan on admitting my virginity to anyone there, however.
Is there some way they find out?
I don't feel like being violated on stage. xD

they find out because the non-virgins you go with WILL RAT YOU OUT. well, that's how it happened for me, anyways. damn you, brother of mine!! well, i didn't have to do anything embarrassing.

my de-virginizing: the actor who played frank-n-furter made some announcements about prop etiquiette. the he asked if there were any virgins in the house. my brother and his friends shout "here's one! nwe've got one over here!" frank then says "okay virgins, lets see if you know your stuff! what do you call brad?" "ASSHOLE!!!" " and janet?" "SLUUUUUUT!" and that was it.
my brother was disappointed. i was relieved. he said that when he lost his rocky horror virginity, they made all the virgins go onstage. the guys had to hold knitting needles between their knees, and the girls had balloons. the guys had to pop a girl's "cherry". ^^

so yeah, they basically "attack" the audience members who have never seen it IN THE THEATER before. if you watch it at home, you're a "masterbator". you can lose your viriginity in all sorts of ways. the forced transvestism in GloomCookie is just one example.

but FDH, have you NEVER SEEN IT AT ALL?? for the love of pete, go rent it this very instant, young man!! you'll either love it or hate it, but gosh darn it, you HAVE to see it!!

yeah, i got off way easy.

you might be able to find out what sort of thing a venue is planning on doing to the virgin patrons ahead of time, especially if it's a regular thing. it might be nothing, or it could be fun, or it could be too over the top. you never know.

um YEAH. it is. and that's kinda the POINT, really. i mean, we all kinda know that it isn't OMG teh actual greatest film ever made or anything. i'm not about to rate Rocky Horror on the same scale as say, The Godfather. i like Rocky Horror the same way i enjoy watching something like Plan 9 From outer Space: in an ironic, kitshy fun sort of way. it's just plain silly nonsense but that's no reason it can't be fun. plus, the most of the songs are actually good and well, tim curry at his most fabulous. ;-D
