Also, I think the skin color is kind of important. Sokka and Katarra are clearly a different race than say Zuko. Just like our world, I'd imagine their fantasy world would have different races for the different continents too.

The fire benders always seemed to have a Japanese look to them (for me) visually, where as the water benders at the poles seemed like inuits, the earth benders seemed like slavic or maybe Mongolian sort of people, and the air benders...well, you can't tell me they don't look a tad Chinese.

It's nothing to get bent out of shape about, I would just like to see some variation.
However, acting skills > appearance.

At this point, i could care less about the skin colors of the characters. What matters above all else is weather or not it remains true to the cartoon. We all saw what happened with DB: Evolution and what a colossal clusterfuck that was.

The story is what truly reeled me into the series, as well as the complex characters and relationships. Just as long as Shamalan doesn't stray too much from the story, I shall be satisfied. Eragon almost ruined adaptation movies for me for good. If this one disappoints, I may never be able to watch another movie in theaters again.
