Awight awight. I'm bored and I don't know when College is starting again so I need something to do.

So what we do is set a tpoic and then go off and make something to do with it, be it a drawing or whatever.

I've been wanting an excuse to do another fan art of Sera!
but first-I must finish a painting on a skateboard that I
promised a certain little lady..

yanno, i been wantin' to do up some new SR fan art, but come up with a blank on subject matter. i COULD just try some figure drawing of somebody just standing around for no reason, but i tend to feel better about a picture if the person in it is actually DOING something, or at least looks like theyre doing something.
also, i find fan arts look better if you can manage to get some characteristics kind of in the style of the original artist (if that makes sense to anyone but me, because i dont mean flat out aping someone else's style or anything...) and i've been trying to absorb through osmosis aaron a's NEW-ish style but havent quite got there, at least to a point where i feel comfortable with it. again, if that makes sense.

See, this is why I think this'll be cool, seeing as we will all most probably approach this differently, seeing what we come up with will be interesting. Plus I like artsy stuff as part of a group, but not many of my friends are into the same type of stuff I am. (They all play guitar )

As for my thingy, I've done a ickle sketch, and it's not all static posey seeing as I want to be serious about this. NOt sayin' you wont be, I'm just really bored and I may as well throw myself into something... Oh there WAS that web comic... shit I need to..shit...

Will, I shall make those new CDs soon, I still gotta get a new package for Subsies seein as I ripped the damn thing and I promised her a prezzy for the wait.

maybe if we came up with a theme phrase thingy.....
kind of like how the idea for my "Ectopus" was brought about....
like um..."ecto-creatures" or hrmm..."dark thingies from the past", "
or even more ambiguous like "The first time she ___" or "Sera is___"
replacing Sera for any other Serenity Rose character if one so chooses....
might help some of us get some ideas started at least....
and then from there we could post some of our ideas, if we wanted
(little thumbnails or some such-nothing special) for some helpful, constructive criticism.
It'd be neat to see all the different variants from a similar idea.

These drawing stuffs sound like a neat neat idea :3, but I can't help but throw this out there because I love the feel of it and tried to do something similar another forum family but it never got picked up:

What if we do tag-off fan videos? Like telling a story swtich-off thing you'd do with your friends just before bedtime as a kiddling (can't be just me) - and it wouldn't have to be serious, it could be whatever you want. Or just make a YouTube account and post videos up without having to connect them too each other.. or.. or..

Actually I sorta meant this as a Muti-media type thing, not just for our scribblings.

I have no idea what you be suggestin' though, Hair. But I get that it requires a video camera, which is a roadblock right there for me.

Also, Squeeks suggestion is cool, do we wanna have this just as a fanart deal or what? I just said Serenity Rose because I had no other ideas at the time.

Well I feel silly explaining since you can't do it... but say one guy makes a five minute video about Serenity searching for Tess in the woods, then another gal makes a three minute video about what they do and they're just talking, and the third guy takes it somewhere completely different like they're attacked by zombies or aliens, just whatever.

It's like how you guys do the three word story thing, but with videos... and... looonger.

I don't think I'd be able to do an actual animation right now...
(gettin ready to start work) and I don't think I have any
programs in which to do so with..

Teim: I don't think the whole posting of thumbnails necessarily
applies to just ideas for drawings...sometimes it's a good idea to
do quick sketches for whatever else medium you're using, as well.
(like sculptures etc..) -can help work out certain problems that might
be encountered, otherwise, during the creation process-
However, if you've already started, (since your the one who
suggested this whole art-makin thingie) then by all means- go for it!
just suggested that it might be fun to help each
other work out ideas, tis all.

also, it could be neat to make some completely ambiguous phrase/themed
thingie so that we can do anything we want, while still having something
as a base to draw inspiration from.

I could do some fan-arts for Serenity! If it's something along the lines of a video, I'll be needing a camcorder or something along those lines... -_-

FDH's idea sounds so much fun!Someone can distort the story until it doesn't even make sense anymore. I like that idea.

Squeeks idea is good in opinion, seeing as not everyone has recording/animation equipment...

Hm...I can't do vids, either (well, I guess I could attempt to get another *a-hem* "trial" version of Flash, but that'd be dishonest. And look awful, seeing as my tablet's busted. Plus my webcam may work, but iMovie doesn't >>; ).

However, I could try making an animated GIF if I can get my tablet to work, I suppose...

yeah, maybe what squeek said, if we all take something a bit more specific than just say "serenity rose" like "serenity rose makes a cake" or "sera painting" then we could all compare how we interpretted that idea... plus it would probably give me something more to springboard from than something "too general." like "draw tess" is too general. i'd get stuck. but "draw tess with a squirt gun" kind of lends itself better to being drawn. in my opinion.

also, i'm lucky i can upload images to the internet, nevermind movies or animations or even gifs. i am too dumb. but i'd be happy to join a drawing project.

i throw this back to TEIM who came up with this idea for what our art project topic ought to be. like somebody else said (was it squeek?) that if you already started on one, maybe we could all work with the topic you started in on...?

ps-- and i was only taking the mickey out of you regarding those cds. i know theyre comin' ^^. i havent even decided on what to send YOU yet.

Sera's growth/change maybe? Personal interpretations of where Sera started and where she is now, especially the change from the beginning the the comic to now? We were handed that delicious bit where Sera is talking to V about the various stages of her life... pimplegoth...

Fun. I was flipping through the trade and saw the page where she fantasizes a bit about having tea with V.. and it happened not too much after that!
