pointing an accusatory (or questioning) finger

so, i was logged into the ol' admin panel -- because i am made of magic and do such things -- and deleting spam accounts. when that was over and done with, i was looking at the users list and noticed something:

there are people who have accounts, who have logged into their accounts, and yet have NEVER POSTED. i am curious about this. you have the account. you obviously KNOW you have it since you logged in. it's not as though you joined ages ago and forgot about it. i CAN SEE when you last logged in, and for some, it is recent (re: my being made of magic and can cast True Seeing).

so my question is:
why do you have an account, log into it, but never post?

i can understand that the active threads may not interest you, but you CAN START threads of your very own. in fact, we ENCOURAGE it!

i don't want to sound like i'm ungrateful to have you as a member, because i'm not. i'm very glad to have you on board and to know that there are other appreciators of Serenity Rose out there. i just want you all to know that you need not fear being scolded or scoffed at for thread starting. that many of us here are social-phobic so if that's your issue, you are not alone (in fact we have a thread dedicated to personal and mental issues). we are pretty friendly and patient here.

we welcome you.

don't be afraid.

that is all.

Gummi bricks are dead useful too. You can build space ships out of them!

Been quite a few more Newbies of lot, without a single new post from any of them. I'm guessing they either are joining for something that isn't here that they thought would be or nothing here interests them at all.

...but you can peruse the forum BEFORE joining! you can look around and read everything beforehand, thereby allowing you to make an informed decision as to whether or not this is an online community in which you want to take part! it's not as though they join without knowing what to expect!
i know i took a good long look before committing to a membership here. i wanted to make sure that what the people were talking about were topics to which i could relate and that i would have something relevant to say. did no one else here do this? do everyone else just sign up sight unseen?

There is a lot of forums out there. It's hard to keep peoples intrese up for so long. But yeah, it is a bit odd to be able to escape the vortex and then give the huge effort of registrer a membership but then don't do anything with it. It even strikes me as stupid. But then, it's people we're talking about. ;)

But needless to say I don't think this thread actually helps. Just gives newbies an impression of this being a silent empty forum with few members. And they would be right. :)

Unicorns are real. They all just got fat, grey and lazy. So we call them Rhinoceroses.

It might be the fact that I keep farting in this place.

Or Cordelia's haircut. Yeesh, she really gets gross looking as the seasons go on. Really short hair, pale, a tad chunky.. AND PANTS SUITS! Oh lord. Why the damn pants suits? Posthumously bring back first season Cordy, dammit.

Wait, I've gone a snooch off topic, haven't I?
