Hooboy, I am what you call a comic nerd.

Stuff I'm reading that's really really good:

Seven Soldiers of Victory: Klarion the Witchboy
Seven Soldiers of Victory: Zantanna
Seven Soldiers of Victory: The Guardian
Seven Soldiers of Victory: Shining Knight
Villains United
Day of Vengeance
The Walking Dead
Teen Titans
Legion of Superheroes
Ultimate Fantastic Four
New Avengers
Young Avengers
Livewires
Ultimate Spiderman
The Ultimates
Ultimate X-men
Lucifer
Bleach
Naruto
The Hunger
Batgirl

And that is the short list. But what I'm really digging these days is Grant Morrison's work with his new Seven Soldiers of Victory. I mean, talk about an obscure reference; no one outside of your hardcore basement dweller type's ever gonna recognize that one. I love all the little Golden Age obscuria he throws in (The Newsboy Army, Whip, Vigilante and all of that).

In particular Klarion the Witchboy has entertained me most. You Batman: The Animated Series afficianados may recognize him, but in comic continuity neither hide nor hair has been seen of him since his few appearances in Jack Kirby's original run on 'Demon', other than a few character filler appearances. His mini has a wonderful reverse-Oz/Through the Looking Glass feel to it, like the Wicked Witch or Cheshire Cat had fallen through to our world, and a fair bit of Oliver Twist with a splash of Faust.

heh i remember Klarion's appearance on Batman along with the Demon. that was quite the odd moment for the not-too-familiar fan, i'm sure.

but my biggest interaction with Klarion (bum-bum-BUM) the Witchboy was in the Sins Of Youth story arc DC did a while back with Young Justice in which the young heroes got grown up, the grown up heroes got young, but the original teen titan stayed the same....
and i'm prolly the only one who knows what i'm talking aboot coz no one read Young Justice but me...

This topic's become a list of sorts!

Azumanga Daioh
Bear
Serenity Rose
Cromartie High School
Yotsuba&!
Dilbert (I clean an office building, it's wonderful how many Dilbert comics I pass)
Midori Days
Lenore? (the one year gap makes me lose interest a lot of the time)
Excel Saga (completely different from the series, and sometime more interesting)

I probably have more, but I cannae be bothered to get off my chair.

To be honest, I have enjoyed the classic Pokemon comic books alot in my youth. Now, I love reading Hikaru No Go, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Death Note.

It's amazing how mutch Ib have matured over the years. (sarcasm)

i've read some SiP! the first story i have in paperback and its not so great. its GOOD, but i felt some of the humor was a tad dumb-assy.
the second story ("i dream of you"? is that the title?) i have every issue and i have to say it was AMAZING. all sorts of huge revelations about the characters, secrets and lies that stuff. so good.
i have a handful of misc issues from the "in colour!" period and that kind off assy humour was in random places. i kind of got out of it after that because i had trouble figuring out the order of the books. he self published then was printed by image then self published again and the numbering got messed up or summat and i didnt know which came fiist. so i stopped picking it up.
every once in a while if i see it on the rack i thumb through it just to see how katchoo and francine are doing.... ^^
