Hooboy, I am what you call a comic
nerd.Stuff I'm reading that's really really good:
Seven Soldiers of Victory: Klarion the Witchboy
Seven Soldiers of Victory: Zantanna
Seven Soldiers of Victory: The Guardian
Seven Soldiers of Victory: Shining Knight
Villains United
Day of Vengeance
The Walking Dead
Teen Titans
Legion of Superheroes
Ultimate Fantastic Four
New Avengers
Young Avengers
Livewires
Ultimate Spiderman
The Ultimates
Ultimate X-men
Lucifer
Bleach
Naruto
The Hunger
BatgirlAnd that is the
short list. But what I'm really digging these days is Grant Morrison's work with his new
Seven Soldiers of Victory. I mean, talk about an obscure reference; no one outside of your hardcore basement dweller type's ever gonna recognize that one. I love all the little Golden Age obscuria he throws in (The Newsboy Army, Whip, Vigilante and all of that).
In particular Klarion the Witchboy has entertained me most. You Batman: The Animated Series afficianados may recognize him, but in comic continuity neither hide nor hair has been seen of him since his few appearances in Jack Kirby's original run on 'Demon', other than a few character filler appearances. His mini has a wonderful reverse-Oz/Through the Looking Glass feel to it, like the Wicked Witch or Cheshire Cat had fallen through to
our world, and a fair bit of Oliver Twist with a splash of Faust.
