(I got my "Munkee" sketch in the mail a few days ago. ^^ It was priceless, trying to explain to me mum why exactly it was worth $50 to me.)

The fact that he works on 8 1/2"x11" fills me with glee---means I don't have to learn how to make HUGE bloody pages! I do way too much detail for 'em anyway...it'd all be lost.

absolutely! i find the bigger i go, the more distorted my work gets. i cant really explain it. i remember being in high school senior art class meant doing pretty much whatever sort of projects you wanted and turning them in whenever, and i did this warrior goddess drawing with armor and crashing ocean waves and everythang and i turned it in and my teacher says "thats a great proposal, how big did you want to go?" and i'm like "uh, none bigger thanks. this was really difficult as it is" and he says "oh no, you got to do this on huge ass posterboard!" well i did and it turned out like crap. the figure got all disproportionate and what not. plus, i wasnt used to color pencilling that big and it completely threw me off. bleh!!

Ugh, I know how you feel. I had to do a set piece for the play we just did, of "Woman in Armchair" by picasso...on a canvas that was TALLER THAN ME.

Luckily it turned out fine, 'cause it was cubism (-snerk-) but I hated it all the way up until the end.
I hate working big. >_>

8 1/2"x11" is the comfort zone, iddn't it.
