Was very awesome. But I didn't walk away from it with an elated sense or anything.. The theater was horribly hot and a lot of crap went on prior to getting to the movie that kinda dulled the night.

I haven't read the comic though...

Film does NOT shy away from anything.
Full frontal male nudity, rape, violence, moral ambiguity...

I would not classify it as a comic movie.. it really goes beyond anything that's been made in that genre.

Going to try to see it again this week, if I ever get over this damn flu.

I've been hearing it's pretty nutered compared to the book, but still awesome.

There are some changes that I've been told about that I don't like (like Rorschach's dead dog story ending differently), but I can understand them changing the ending (of the movie) just because it's a mind fuck. It has the same outcome, but that one panel in Watchmen with Maddison Square Garden is horrifying and I can't see what they replaced that with being anything but sterile..

Oh and this:

Do you know what it is? For those who don't, it's a God that Moore worships.

I have no idea if I wanna see the movie or not. Never read the comic. But the trailer gave me a god impression. But then now all the critics calls it "half-lame" so I donnu. Few movies can be become as boring as a bad "superhero-movie".

Man.. you know I don't remember the sex scene being quite that long in the book...

I kinda didn't need to know what Dan Drieburg's O-face looked like..

yanno, i had EXACTLY the same reaction. it's like, what got cut for time so that we could have this extended sex scene?
i hear tell there is probably going to be one heck of an extended edition when the DVD comes out.

just saw it yesterday with a good friend who had read the original. it was fun for him to point out all of the changes. I think he described it best.

"its like lord of the rings in the sense of that they did cut stuff out, but what they included kicked ass and made up for it."

i followed up with, "at least it wasn't like eragon. then, i would feel truly sorry for you."

after seeing the movie, he bought me the book. im halfway through it right now; couldn't put it down. ive got to say, this is the most deep superhero story i have ever read. larger than life characters in an realistic sense.

i feel bad i never got into this sooner.

another interesting note:

when i was watching this in the theater, when we got to the scene with the hot fat, i freaked. i almost got kicked out of the theater. i would have if the rest of the audience wasn't laughing over my little episode

My friend: (quietly)"deep fried black man! haha!"

Me:(screaming)"THAT SHITS RACIST! THAT SHITS RACIST!! THAT MOTHERFUCKING SHITS RACIST!!"

honestly, i found that scene horrifyingly racist. and violent. racist and violent.
