I personally think that your 'Mad Contessa' would look awesomely swell
if you just leave the original drawing, and overlay that first photoshop thingy you did with the headlights?
In photoshop, near the layers menu, you can change the blending modes (darken, multiply, overlay etc..)
I think if you play with those a little it would turn out super fantastic!
Personally, I don't think it needed any work past that..
I think being simplistic with colorizing, or "finishing" drawings is key,
b/c we start out with breaking down basic characteristics, right?

Oh man, honestly? I miss the old Sera. The way Sera was drawn in the first series was way cuter tomboyish and more.... her... I guess. Sera looks a lot more female now, and Mr. Alexovich is still pretty much the best comic artist ever, but I miss old Serenity.

Oh man, if Jhonen Vasquez wrote something and Aaron A. was the artist, it would be pretty awesome.

Also, JUST got an email response from Mr. Alexovich to my emailed submission of this piece of nonsense:

"Ha! I love it!

That's how I'd want Serenity to look in the iPhone game version of her life."

That pretty much made my day.

personally, i think aaron is doing well just doing his own thing. his writing has a different feel compared to Vasquez. i personally prefer Mr. A's work.

I concur, Mr. Evilmidget, sir.

I like Vasquez's stuff...but I think his style of story-telling would clash
a little against Mr. A's art style....

and I prefer Mr. A's stuff cause it's so much more insightful and, well, meaningful in general.
I think it speaks a lot about him, and speaks a lot to his audience.
It can be humorous, but it can also be serious.

I do miss old-style Sera sometimes, but then I get to read and
google over the new, maturing, and beautiful Sera that Mr. A has created..
I relate a lot to that, b/c I used to be a very quiet, tom-boyish, awkward
little goth-girl like the old-style Sera....
I'm still quiet, awkward, I still dress goth a lot of the time, and I'm still
tom-boyish...but the difference is that I'm maturing...
Therefore, I am beginning to feel more and more at ease with my body, and my mind..
and that maturity often materializes itself in the form of outward appearance.

I think I would frolic and giggle as I snuggled all the Sera merchandise,
if that happened.
but then I'd also feel slightly odd about seeing so many ppl wearing
the heart shaped skull and asking me if I knew about it...lol.
