Yeah, he did gradually get more violent with the black "suit"; can't remember if he *killed* anyone, but it was bad anyway. Sometimes you just have to tell your symbiote they're not welcome anymore.

I *have* the issue where Pete knocks the thing out with the church bell, but apparently Web Of Spider-Man isn't considered "canon" any more, so the comic geeks deny its legitimacy and sometimes even its existence. Which sucked, 'cause I *needed* me some money 'bout when that movie was playin'. (is there a comics mafia?)

an' it's nice to see 'em here, i have nowhere *near* enough time for dA lately. There's like *800* deviations in ma box. :(

"web of" is STILL canon, you silly-face. there are 2 things in this world that i know when it comes to comics: the claremont run on uncanny x-men and almost all spider-man since the dawn of time. (stress the almost) the whole "one more/brand new day thingy has left people cross-eyed over what past continuity to believe but all that stuff STILL HAPPENED. i er assume that's why you believe web of isnt canonical any more. if you have other reasons, i'd be interested in knowing them.
and yeah, spidey never kilt no one even in black symbiote suit. his violence level increased and THE SYMBIOTE killed people of its own accord but spidey wasn't wearing it.

back on topic goodness:

me likey spidey-man. me likey squeekah's drawing. it's a slightly off model stylized version, but then the symbiote could change its appearance at will, so there's my No Prize submission. also, stylizing classic characters is fun and i likes it.
good to know i'm not the only one who uses brickwalls for backgrounds around here ^.^

lol- yeayup. that brick-wall was definitely Photoshopped in thar. :???:

Also, this "Spidey" is definitely a different take on the usual...
even from black-suit Spidey..
I like imagining Parker as having a much more difficult time
controlling the symbiote than what he did...
and he doesn't necessarily have to be killing someone..
He sure is doing a lot of damage though, eh? :tooth:

I haven't read nearly enough comics aboot Spidey...
even though I love him so very very much...
I have tons of friends that read comics,
but they never really suggest comics for me to read..
What about you all? Know of any I should read?
One of my fav Spidey comics, that I've read so far,
is actually the Marvel-Mangaverse "Spiderman: Legend of the Spider-clan" :)
I really enjoy good alternate takes on well known Heroes.

Though I've just read a few volumes, I was very much entertained by Straczynski's Amazing Spider-Man, I'd check that out :)

oh yeah that was definitely a good run. he really did some innovative things with the character.
also, check out "spider-man blue", "kraven's last hunt" was pretty good, and yanno loads of people will always give spidey crap for the "clone saga" but i actually really liked how it ended.
if you like alternate takes, have you checked out any of the actual japanese spidey, "spider-man j"? some of them get reprinted in the u s of a in "Spider-man family" (which might be worth checking out any way since it reprints other "classic" spidey tales as well as new side stories for current continuity).

akshly that's just what the semi-local "Comic Shop Guy(tm)*" told me.... & he insisted the church-bell trick wasn't part of official continuity at all..... hell, I dunno what's going on, I gave up on even *trying* to follow Major Brand comics years ago, too confuzzling.

* yes, he's an exact duplicate of Groening's. One of many I've met.

Iffin yon admin(s) and/or mods decide it's artsy enough to stick on here,
then I will, but I don't wanna get anyone (myself included)
in some crap for posting it before-hand. :???:

Let me know what you think! :)

Oh, and Alphatroll, I read about your B-day..
I don't think I ever told you happy B-day...did I? :o
I'm sorry your B-day went poorly...
I hope you've had a good time since then, to make up for it..

It's pretty much tradition now that my actual B-day turns to crap..

I got sick off of booze the night before...and had a hangover my entire B-day...
I thought I was going to be celebrating with my loved ones that night..
but it didn't really turn out that way..
So I was pretty disappointed..
but no fighting and family fun this year, thank goodness..
I save that for the holidays.
