Yes, there's a beat, but it's hard to tell from reading it. I could sing it though...

i'm hearing it with a metal/rap-type sound, style makes me think vaguely Pantera or something..... I never heard much of the stuff from when Ice-T "went metal", could it be something from that? it's one of his favorite subjects anywayz.... ;)

These are a few things that i wrote while on the job

SURROUNDED:

Every time i look up, i see new faces. Although they may look different on the outside, they are all the same. Consumers. Greed. Old People. Vanity. Lust. It is all in the eyes of those i look upon.
Sometimes, i wish i could just make it all go away. Not that I am lazy, I just hate seeing the same type of people every day. Just read in the news that retail is up 9 percent. Lets face it, they are just trying to program us.
Surrounded by a sea of morons. They all blindly buy and consume. Girls mostly. Stupid parents that want their kids to have all they never had. Birthrights. What are birthrights? It seems that birthright is yet another word that this world has redefined. Normal. Birthright. Spongebob. Entertaining kids shows. It has all changed dramatically.
I seem to enjoy smiling at people. But recently, it has been hard> Why? Is it my own personal paranoia? Why do i worry so much about what people think of me?
Just served a girl. Again, typical. Very typical. She's a queen. Surrounded by a group of guys. I recognize one of them. Redneck. Used to ride my buss.
Why don't people carry cash? It disappeared. They think that they can still consume thanks to that little piece of plastic in their pockets.
Girls seem to like to look like jet setters. They think that a pair of shades on their heads will make them look more mall going. So fucking vapid and vane.
END

BRIGHT:

A bright Saturday. Was raining an hour ago. Now the sun is shining. Lots of families today. Lots of smiles. Lots of twenties too. No wonder they're smiling; they just god paid and are ready to blow that money already. Consumers. Both positive and negative. Some are doing for others. Some are doing for themselves. But for me, its hard to tell which is which. For me, that's a good thing.
The truth is, I would rather not judge people. When i do, its because there is hate of some kind in my heart, so I look at the negatives. I don't want to hate. I want to be happy. I want to love.

THe reason behind these little scribbles? I was depressed. I was bored. I remembered this exercise that my english teacher gave me once. He said to just spend about five minutes writing whatever comes to mind. it was fun. its interesting what can come out sometimes.

Indeed. :) I really enjoy doing writings like that..
In fact, the majority of my poetry begins as such.

I really like reading writings where it feels natural..
when it doesn't feel strained to rhyme.
Good work! Keep it up!

I do have some advice to you, however...

get out of the mall!
it seems like being there so much could possibly be altering your perception of people..
but people often change their appearance/ mannerisms when they go to malls..

Indeed, malls are essentially the gathering pot of consumers,
but when (especially us chicks) go out, we want to wear our outfits
that we don't get to wear on a daily basis...
So, I suppose we can look pretty shallow in our fancy-smancy get-ups..

I think...(as a former mall-kid) malls are kind of like a spot for wardrobe self-expression..
(kind of like in Harajuku or Shibuya, Tokyo)
Image

not just a place to buy stuff...
Hell, in the past I've went just to hang out and look at things not to buy anything, per se..
Normally it was b/c I'm from a tiny conservative town and the
mall is a place where unusual style is alright or tolerated, if not accepted.

I might be rambling now... :\

I understand that you were just upset when you wrote it..
just be careful not to let this stuff sink in and eat away at your soul ;)

being an observer of people in high school, my perception was altered a looooong time ago. and i wasn't super depressed when i wrote those things. i was just bored and decided to be a little creative.

i will say this tho. about three years ago, my therapist said that i have "congnative thinking" (i think that's how you spell it). apparently i have a problem when it comes to noticing things. i tend to notice little things that most would not. and when i said i was surrounded, i MEAN surrounded. the stand is right in the middle of all mall traffic and it is VERY noisy even when there is no one around. so yeah, you tend to think too much into things when you spend 55 hours a week at the mall and are bored about 80 percent of the time. some days i feel like my brain is just melting away.

Rediscovered some more personal musings of mine. Might toss them up. Freeverse, hummingbird-mind scribblings mostly.

Thanks for reminding me of this thread, Coolgamer! :D

This is a longer autobiographical-style writing....(I won't post the whole think here b/c it's about 12 paragraphs long.) It's called "We All Fall Down": http://eekah.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2k2h1o
