Shakey-shakey?

you're preaching to the choir. i have pissed off many of my facebook friends because of my tendency to go into rant mode.

Thank you, Brother Midge! Testify! :)

This ain't the first time I've managed to piss FDH off, & he's done it too. We're all just part of the rubbing-people-the-wrong-way club. I'm trusting that he'll cool down & it'll be ok.

Again, my apologies for the overboardness! Rant mode does that, all any of us can do is our best.....

<--- Australian in Australia.

Bigger bewbs are always better anyway. :0

It's prolly just another excuse to say "tits or gtfo". :3

B and over is gewd. :3

But this is just my two cents. :tooth:

Besides, it's not as absurd as the UK changing the name of the British desert "Spotted Dick" to 'Spotted Richard".

BBC UK - Pudding renamed Spotted Richard
More solid than the Iron Chef's.

Australia needs some of this shit

Oh, hey, Japan's back. And with a brand of breast-enlarging soft drink.

And no, this is not some subtle thing like Enzyte's "male enhancement" nod and wink ad campaign. Okkikunare literally means "become bigger!" The boob enlargement thing is front and center. The ingredient that was supposed to bring forth a new glorious era for Japanese men, and a slightly more back pain for the women, is powdered arrowroot.

Unfortunately, actual scientific studies with a barrel of it and 20 brave female scientists proved that arrowroot does nothing for breast enhancement (clearly if such a substance existed, mankind would have discovered it about, oh, 10,000 years ago).

And while any country could get caught selling a boob-enhancing formula here and there, only Japan would stick a drawing of a toddler on the label

on the subject of DRAWN underage porn:

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/editorial/2010-02-24/3

in case you missed that link i had on my Twitterz.

basically, this guy is a major manga aficionado, and had literally thousands of manga books. he has EVERY genre represented. a small portion of his collection, is loli-porn comics, some of which he imported from japan. well, customs looked at these and pretty much thought this fellow was an obscene pervert and his house was searched. despite going through everything he owns, no actual photos of underage sex acts were found, only the drawings. he never DID anything harmful or abusive to anyone. his only crime was to own sexy drawings with FICTIONAL underage participants. he pleaded guilty and will serve six months in prison, with 5 years worth of psych evaluation after that. the objectionable comics AND his computer were permanently confiscated.

i think this is insane.

your thoughts?

Insanity's the status quo.

This shit happens all the time. His lawyer AND the prosecuter most likely swore up and down that the guilty plea would get him off with a light fine or something too. But there aren't enough people willing to stick their necks out and demand *actual* justice (instead of the ridiculous crap we get under that false label).

It'll stop when enough people find *another* reason to topple the government & start from scratch, at least until the scum rises to the top again. Maybe Jefferson was right about that 'revolution every 20 years' thing.

omg.....I've heard of places in the U.S. trying to do this shit and failing miserably...
I can't believe they actually successfully convicted a person guilty of nothing but owning drawings, though...

I would imagine pressure, manipulation, and the retarded members of
the jury had a lot to do with him being convicted.
Reminds me of the thing I read about juries being influenced by CSI and such
and believing that if the forensics aren't %100 undeniable, then the murderer is innocent.

So now murderers and rapists get away, but Otakus are being locked up??
What is this world coming to....

What's worse though, is that since everyone believes the CSI cool aid, innocent people can get convicted by faulty science or tainted test results. Most CSI departments are underfunded, overstocked with cases, and understaffed. State crime labs take for damn ever, on that note...

the case i posted about NEVER WENT TO TRIAL. the COMIC BOOK LEGAL DEFENSE FUND was ready to go with expert witnesses lined up out the door to testify on his behalf, but the defender convinced the accused to plead out.

i LIKE to think that if it HAD gone to trial, he wouldn't have gotten convicted of anything. i mean, drawings?? no actual persons were ever victimized in this instance. how can they arrest him for owning art work, which i will admit to being in questionable taste, but taste is subjective!

Isn't there some kind of oath lawyers have to take, like with doctors?

If so, that defender broke *all* of it. *He* should be the one in the cell. Preferably *with* the prosecutor, judge, and everyone on the grand jury (there *has* to be a grand jury decision before it even gets that far, right?)

All in one tiny, crowded cell, with loli-pr0n glued to the insides of their eyelids.
