*Avoiding the accusatory (or questioning) finger*

Postby kaluza » Wed Jun 02, 2010 11:56 pm

Hello forum community (be you active or a lurker), I'm *fairly* new to this forum and have decided it's best to get the whole introduction thingy done with before I forget. (I noticed that williamthebloody points fingers at those who have an account but never post anything. eep.) So hopefully this will make me exempt from said accusatory finger pointing and any "I told you so"s that might be attached.

Stuff about me:
18 year old human living in the western half of the U.S. of A.
Education: 1 year of college 'successfully' completed. Major: Unknown. :\
Interests: Music (esp. classical), Art (all sorts), Reading (anything and everything), and Food. Mustn't forget food!

How I discovered Aaron Alexovich's work:
Being one of those crazy followers of Jhonen Vasquez, I happened upon Mindspill which is full of Invader Zim goodness. The last post was about the epicness of ELDRITCH and some guy who had worked on it and who had also been a part of the Invader Zim team. From that point, I found myself at Aaron's website. Curiosity led me to click on 'book 1' (had no idea what that was), and before I knew it, I had gone through every bit of srose content on the site.
I absolutely love the story, character dialogue, and artwork. (It wasn't until I was halfway through the second book that I noticed there was more to the page then just the story. Realizing that this was a weekly thing, I'm kind of glad I found it now; can't imagine how crazy some of you must've been waiting for the next page. Of course, there is the 3rd book to deal with...whenever time is found to work on it, of course.)

As with most online communities, it'll take me some time to become active (you'd think it would be easier with the anonymity and all, but no. ._.). I noticed this forum is ~5-6yrs of age (don't know what that means, if anything).

Happy Foruming~

see, i occasionally do useful admin things around here!

welcome kaluza! if you like art, do you yourself CREATE any? many of us here do! feel free to post a thread for your arts if you like or link to your deviantart account! we also likeses artses!

yeah, this place is about 6 years old. us "old timers" in here are from 2004. not too many of us around these days, tho. just a small smattering.

one of the nice things about this forum is that we are a fairly small-ish group. this isn't some giant, hulking forum where if you don't post every 5 minutes you will fall through the cracks and be lost.

another tidbit of knowledge about our Aaron Alexovich: he is married to someone who worked on the Coraline movie! so they BOTH have pages on IMDB.com :-D

Don't forget to fix that li'l default font color thingy, Will ;)

Funny story.... I was a Mr V fan before I was a Mr A fan, though mainly just 'cause Mr A's stuff wasn't *out* there yet. But I think it was around the time I totally fell for SR that I first realized Invader Zim even *existed* (a dvd was playing at the comic shop, I'm all "did somebody really let Jhonen make a cartoon?").... mentally filed it away as something I should probably look into someday. It was only after I realized that Aaron had worked on it too that I realized "probably" was "definitely" and "someday" was "NOW". Been about as Zim-obsessed as I am Sera-obsessed since them; Aaron's own work is obviously better in all-around quality, but Zim's got a wackiness (that's right, bring on yer spork, 'Nny!) that I don't think's been seen since Mel Blanc walked the Earth.

So hey, welcome, check my troll-lair over on Soiled Heart Road (or my dA) if ya like Zimmetyness, set up yer own shingle, have some fun!

Stop complaining, the bricks build character!

Also, welcome welcome Kaluza! -hands out customary gummy brick, albeit a month late-
I'm sure you'll fit in great here. :3

Which finger is the accusatory/questioning finger? Or are you born with an extra finger/s OR are you implying the OTHER finger?
