I thot of something we can do!

mebbe not something BLOODY, but still....

Okay, so *anyone* can draw Goblinus crestfalliensis, right? Maybe not as good as Mr A, but really, a two-year-old could. Certainly anyone who can post to a forum can do a better one, too.

And what with Aaron gettin' the bait-&-switch from DC/Zuda, he could use some income.... (I'm gonna post this in the SR Store thread too, BTW)

I srsly think a t-shirt *covered* in goblins would be a really cool thing. Like, maybe so cool even the occasional Muggle might wear one. Hordes o' the little buggers. Or dozens, at least.

But how about a shirt covered in goblins, each by a different artist? I *know* a bunch of us here could contribute, and I can think of a few pros who prolly wouldn't take much convincing to chip one in too. And they wouldn't necessarily *all* have to be by separate artists, but I'd think more than a few per person would kinda miss the point.

To make something that's not too expensive to produce, it'd need to have a fairly limited palette; at first I was thinking just black & white on a pink background would be perfect, but that kind of graphic design might be a bit challenging for a lot of us amateurs, and a little bit of just a few other colors prolly wouldn't make a *huge* difference; if anyone knows specifics, please comment!

And essentially, I'd think it should have just about every kind of goblin doing any kind of gobliny thing imaginable - cute goblins, pathetic goblins, excited goblins, creepy goblins, etc, or even all at once if you can manage it. Just keep 'em simple - avoid setting & backgrounds, & minimal props (like maybe the odd balogney sandwich or something). Possibly little gobliny-quote bubbles for some of 'em, saying gobliny things.

I'm kinda fixated on the pink base color just out of sheer appropriateness, and 'cause with enough goblins it might not even dominate anyway. But if someone thinks their idea is better, go ahead & shoot; like f'rinstance letting the black be the background might end up using less ink or something, depending.

But anyway, here's a couple specimens I did recently; they'd obviously need cleaning up for that limited-palette thing but it's the basic idea:

Image
that's one I did a few days ago, before the idea occurred...

Image
the idea came to me while I was drawing that one this... well, I thought it was morning, but akshly I think not...

(and it looked FAR less bunny-like before I colored it too...! had a spooky kinda leer too.)

Sort of a fan-project, not worry too much about credit, either give the rights to Aaron or credit "Bubblegum Noir" or whatever? Y'know, 'being for the benefit of Mr A' and all that? I think it'd even be fun.

Who's got somethin'? Maybe we could do like a goblin jam over at A Blackened Bus over on dA? Toss in your ideas & your goblins & we'll see if maybe this could work!

I like the idea of the "Goblin Jam" over on A Blackened Bus esp. since the poor group seems to be a little neglected art-wise...It'd be nice to have little thingies everyone could get involved in every now and then over there.. :)

I dunno how I feel about the shirt-project though......any sort of color would make the production costs WAY more.. So I think the best thing would be to limit it to b&w or thereabouts and maybe make the image a gif with a transparent bg. That way all of the goblins could be organized in any way on the shirt.
I also dunno how readily people would be willing to buy a shirt that is made up of fanart rather than the original artist's work... It's an interesting idea, though, and if it's started on A Blackened Bus I might just jump in to help bring attention to the group and Mr. A.

Oh hey, found a doodle from a while back that isn't as awful as the horrific Things Man Was Not Meant To Know that surrounded it.

I would totally wear a shirt that was black and white and covered in goblins. I would wear that shirt a lot. Everywhere. All at once. The color would drive the price up too much, but a few colors here and there would be even more awesome--but probably just as expensive.

Worse yet, you'd have to buy multiple shirts, just to prevent...THE PERILS OF...STAPH INFECTION!
I mean, I've dealt with nasty little bugs here and there, but staph infections are straight up H.R. Giger stuff.
It's like: EWWWWwwwwwwww....

The guy who made the Lyllian game told me it's definitely cheaper if you keep the graphics simple; the shirts he did were mostly printed in one or sometimes two colors IIRC.

But I suppose that may not even matter if you're covering the whole *shirt* with the little buggers...

Fankee Mr The Will! Akshly I kinda have trouble doing anything *other* than wildly-foreshortened action poses lately. It figured into my decision to try the whole music-video-in-comic-book-form thingy. Plus, the song I'm using is just *SOOO* Tess...!

Only had ta go 19 years back in time, too!

I was looking through suggestions for income for mister 'A', and all I see is "Less makah one of 'dem fancy lookin' Tee-shirts, errbody buys 'em!" I'm just thinkin' nonono...

If you want to sell, I say look at the demographics and such. Now, what item would YOU (as'a person) fancy having the heart shaped skull, or Serenity Rose logo (or whatever) slapped on? I personally would like a pendant, which WAS suggested earlier, by someone... Anyways, I like that idea, and I honestly would put motivations towards that lil' thing. It is a really good idea, (and may I mention, the cute factor?) now. The price to actually create, and distribute wouldn't be as much as you'd think honestly. I've seen small town animators (May I mention, Egoraptor? He got his 'O' face done into a bronze pendent he did. And it's only about $5 or so? Pretty cheap, must mean to MAKE that, it was about half the price.) So yeah, I would go for something that ISN'T T-Shirts, it's so unoriginal.

And isn't being unoriginal the sort of cult following Serenity Rose has? Everyone wants to stand out, and all that sort of speech.

Also, I would love posters. Perhaps posters from both Aaron, and some of the best fan art.

Jus' throwing out some ideas, ya'know... Nothing special.

aaron's done posters. a total of five, i think. he had a sera trying to stave off adoring fans, vicious working the crowd at a concert, and tess with squirt gun, also posters depicting every page of volume 1 and volume two separately. (oh i checked the shop and there's a sera and tess poster based on the drawings TIEM commissioned! also all of the posters are SIGNED)

i think aaron could take a cue or two from JENNIE BREEDAN who does The Devil's panties online comic. she makes a living off of her comic due to her mad marketing skillz. she's had everything from shot glasses to slap bracelets to dog tags to playing cards. take a peek at her store:
http://thedevilspanties.com/store
she is one person without a publisher of company behind her. if she can manage/afford to produce these products, aaron probably could as well. notice how she offers cute charm necklaces? heartshapedskull version, please!
