my favorite pair of shorts

Postby evilmidget » Sun Oct 03, 2010 10:24 am

I love shorts, I really do. Especially really obscure ones like the cartoons featured on the Spike and Mike DVDs. I find it interesting how some shorts can be so much enjoyable than something lasting twenty two minutes. Like this one for example:

As well as the works of Sally Cruikshank (and not just her work from SS)

So what is YOUR favorite pair of shorts?

of course, i've always been fond of the oldies...

Tex Avery's Red Hot Riding Hood

and

Tex Avery's Swing Shift Cinderella

yes, i am aware that they are essentially the same cartoon. Avery had such success with Red Hot that he figured "if it ain't broke..." and applied the same treatment to Cinderella.

i do so love the "quick drink" gag in each of these. it just never gets old for me...

God, i loved Tex's work. Essentially, his cartoons were what adult swim is today. Darn shame Toon Heads isn't around any more; that's where I remember watching Tex's work the most.
