Buried. (2010)
I believe this movie was going in the right direction, had the right motion, it had everything it could possibly give for a movie about a guy in a box. Although...
PROS N' CONS TIME.
Pros:
- I like that they made such a long-ish movie enjoyable, even with the subject as a guy in a coffin, and no other real scene characters, they DID make it feel enjoyable, and barely boring. I loved that about it the most.
- I found the concept and how they presented it very heart wrenching, and thrilling, how simple parts such as a quiet showdown between a snake, and a man can be so thrilling.
- The characters that he talked with through a cellphone felt real, even if they didn't give much information about them besides a title [CEO OF EXAMPLES], it made me feel like they were actual people reacting in such a situation.
Now that three points of pros were said, now to lay on some wisdom with the cons.
Cons:
- The whole thing felt overall sad, he never really had much hope to begin with. The main character felt like he had already given up already, while he fought off a snake, fixed cracks, wrote down numbers, est. The character never shown any sort of absolute happiness, but always absolute despair, even when things seemed good.
- The sort of chapters that they had, (which there are three) in between would mostly end with something horrible happening, then he just lays there like a dead fish, looking all weird n' such. Just felt like filler, like they wanted to make the movie even longer, and took away the spirit the movie had five minutes before that.
- Some of the situations felt easily avoidable. With the in the coffin from the crack, he could of fixed that much more easily. Instead of making a fire (...Really not the best idea) he could have just booted the snake in the head, it would have been more enjoyable (The reason I say this, is because he appears to have steel-toed boots), a few more but I'm not giving more away.
All in all, it wasn't a bad watch. I rarely watch TV/Movies, so this was pretty fun for me. I wasn't disappointed like most movies these days, and I hope you enjoy it as well if you haven't seen it yet.
